DIANA STORY
The name of the company comes from mythology, where Diana is the hunting goddess. From this origin the Arrow comes and this has become the company’s brand. Diana began its activity in year 1947 with the production of Lingerie. Through the manufacturing of this kind of products Diana assumes the basics of the body shaping for a perfect fit.
In year 1955 Diana began, together with the underwear manufacture, a new production of bathingsuits that were conceived with the first elasticized fabrics.
In 1972 The company changed its Logo : this was the age of the arrow that described the velocity. Diana becomes famous all over the world as “the swimming pools arrow”.
Diana began the twenty-year co-operation with the Italian Swimming Federation and with the famous “Settebello” of Waterpolo that would have won everything possible at international level.
At the Olympic Game in Munich the Italian athletes worn Diana competition swimsuits.
In 1975 Diana patented the first anti-catch waterpolo suit that would have been imitated for more than 30 years from all the companies. Always during the same year Diana patented also the waterpolo cap, “one-piece”, with frontal protection.
The American Jim Montgomery , Diana testimonial at the Olympic Games in Montreal, was the first athlete in the world to swim 100 meters Freestyle under the 50 seconds roof.
Always in the year 1976 , at the Olympic games, the multi medaled gymnast Nadia Comaneci worn Diana garments.
At the Olympic Games in Moscow, Diana introduced the lightest competition swimsuit in the world , called SLICK and whose weight was 32 gr.
During the World Championship in Madrid Diana introduced the first bodysuits that was worn by the Swedish Team.
During the Italian Championship in 1991, the titleholder Ilaria Tocchini worn the first Bikini in the world for competition.
Diana changes its logo, this is the age of the Fluid Arrow.
It is the time of SUBMARINE series Bodysuits.
At the World Championship 2003 in Barcelona , Diana won 25 individual medals thanks to the prototype of the Submarine Series.
During the Olympic Games in Athens Otylia Jedrzejczak won 3 medals wearing the Bodysuit Submarine Advanced
In 2006 Diana changes logo again coming back with a modern restyling of the traditional Arrow. Always in the same year Diana launches Submarine Thermofusion during European championships in Budapest.
In 2008 it's the time for Submarine Shining Arrow & Cyclone.
Finally 2010 is the year of Vega & Vega Poly.
Diana in more than 60 years of its history was supplier of many international swimming and waterpolo Federations: Italy, France, Suisse, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Jugoslavia, Slovenia, Poland, USA, Great Britain, Ukraine, Portugal.
Many famous swimmers wore Diana costumes and thanks to their performances Diana won more than 400 medals during international events.
Today Diana is proud to be part of the CMAS Finsuits project and will continue to deliver excellent and serious products to fin swimmers all around the world.
